Defensive tackle, Casey Hampton signed a new three-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday. The new deal is worth 21.3 million dollars, and will keep the nine-year veteran in Pittsburgh for the foreseeable future.
Since being 19th overall by the Steelers in the 2001 NFL Draft, Hampton has had a bright career. The defensive tackle has been selected to five Pro Bowls and was elected a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers 75th Anniversary All-Time Team in 2007.
Throughout his career, Hampton has been credited for 314 tackles and 8.5 sacks. In 2009, he had 42 tackles to go along with his 2.5 sacks. Hampton has started in all but seven games in his career, including all sixteen in 2009.
